Book of Mormon Birthday

For as long as I have known James he has been a South Park fan.
We used to fall asleep to the show every night. yeah, crazy.
When he found out the creators had a Broadway hit called The Book of Mormon, he had his mind set that one day he would see it.
Well, turns out the show is now at the Pantages Theater in LA, and our best buds Tony & Yvonne were going. James's big bday surprise this year was tickets to the show!
We left Santa Barbara early, met up with our friends for dinner, saw the show and drove back.
It was a whirlwind of a day but so worth it.
How was the show you ask?
HIGHLY OFFENSIVE, but of course in true South Park fashion, hilarious too.
One thing about South Park is, NO ONE IS SAFE!
So just when you get offended, realize they do it to just about everyone.
Its all fair game. ;)
Would I recommend my mom or pastor see it? hmmmm... probably not. ;)
I love you James!
May the bday month continue!

Dad's Bday in the mountains

Since James has the fortune of having a birthday on MLK weekend he usually gets some sort of trip or overnight stay somewhere to celebrate. This year was no exception.
We visited our good buddies Tony and Cynthia at their cabin up in Wrightwood CA.
Tony's birthday is two days before James so this was the second time we celebrated them together.
It was also the second time we stayed with them at their cabin for their birthdays- except the first time we didn't have two little angels to help decorate their cake. :)
It was a little tough explaining to Penelope why we couldn't do all of the snow activities we had last year (because it was dry as a bone up there), but she did manage a lesson at the resort.
Happy Birthday Jamers!
I love you so much!!!!
celebrating the night before with cupcakes

Connor's 2nd bday and fun with cousins!

Today was a super fun day.
We kicked it off with some yoga at Climbtime Yoga and my little niece Lilja came.
It was also Connor's second birthday so we brought cupcakes and scones to celebrate.
After yoga, I took the girls to their Aunt Linda's for some play.
They loved jumping on the trampoline and playing with Lilja's toys.
Then we all took a walk to Alice Keck park to feed the ducks and have a picnic.
The girls loved it and I especially loved the yummy quiche Linda made!
It was around 80degrees here today so it was great to be outside.
Ah, January in Santa Barbara.

birthday boy scarfing down his cupcake
might I mention our dog Gracie swiped 4 of these huge cupcakes last night-
hence the extra scones I had to whip up this morning!
